Krešimir Komljenović, Director of HEP's CCGT Power Plant in Zagreb, was awarded the silver metal at the 44th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva for his 'Piping Construction for Measuring Fluid Flows'.
Komljenović had already been awarded the gold medal for this invention in November 2015 in Brussels along with a special recognition by the organizers of the international 2015 Innova exhibition.
The essence of the awarded innovation is the possibility of the accurate measurement of waste water flows by conducting classical measurements of small diameter flows regardless of any possible large flow fluctuations. A practical implementation of said innovation is in using regular and relatively cheap flow measurings e.g. from one to a thousand liter per second flows, with a relatively high accuracy for all flow variations. Along with this innovation which has been implemented for over a year, CCGT Zagreb also implements and continuously develops several other improvements and methods.
The 44th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva held from 13 until 17 April was participated by innovators from 45 countries in the world presenting a total of a thousand innovations. The participation of Croatian innovators was organized by the Croatian Association of Innovators with the support of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development and in cooperation with the Croatian Association of Technical Culture.
This was the 22nd participation of the Croatian team in this prestigious international fair. The Croatian Association of Innovators presented 13 innovations this year, most of which were awarded in official categories.
