According to a research carried out by the Zagreb School of Economics and Management concerning corporate management and social responsibility in Croatia, HEP is, besides INA, the best assessed company in the area of reporting on social responsibility.
The Zagreb School of Economics and Management in collaboration with East-West Management Institute from Budapest released towards the end of February the results of the second research on corporate management and social responsibility in Croatia.
The research team analyzed web sites and annual reports of 48 Croatian companies using two separate surveys - On-line Investor Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility. For both surveys, the researchers put themselves in the position of a potential investor and then analyzed publicly available materials to determine whether investor needs for information are satisfied.
In the area of reporting on social responsibility, HEP is, together with INA, with a total of 19 points scored the best assessed company in Croatia (for reporting through Annual Report it got 9 out of 15 possible points, and for reporting through the web 10 out of 15 points.
Generally, based on research on transparency of corporate management and corporate social responsibility in the leading Croatian companies, it can be concluded that there is an upward trend of the quality and quantity of reporting. In the area of investor relations through the web sites Croatian companies have improved their attractiveness for potential investors.
