On October 29, a Contract for the Implementation of the Energy Efficiency Project for the Public Lighting of the City of Pula was signed at HEP ESCO between the customer, HEP ESCO d.o.o., and the contractor, HEP ODS d.o.o. Elektroistra Pula.
The Contract was signed by Gordana Lučić, director of HEP ESCO d.o.o. and Davor Mišković, director of HEP ODS d.o.o. Elektroistra Pula. Elektroistra, which is also the maintainer of the public lighting system in the city of Pula, will, as part of the implementation of the energy efficiency project, procure and install more than 2 thousand new lamps and reconstruct or relocate more than 330 existing lamps. The Contract provides for removal and disposal of waste (lamps, light bulbs, electrical waste) as well as for preparation of as-built documentation. The total value of the Contract with Elektroistra is seven million kuna (excl. VAT).
The project implementation will result in a significantly improved quality of the lighting system compared to the current situation, which means better quality and longer life of the equipment installed and better quality of the lighting. Lighting quality improvements, in addition to improvement in lighting technical parameters of roads and walkways, include reduction in light pollution and/or unnecessary spreading of the flow of light beyond the surfaces requiring lighting. The state-of-the art equipment to be installed will allow to reduce operating costs of the system (electricity consumption and maintenance). These savings, which are estimated at 900 thousand kuna a year, will be used to finance, based on ESCO model, the investment in the new system. The planned completion of the project is the end of 2009.
