HEP-ESCO and Medven industy have signed the energy efficiency project contract on May, 25. 2010, the project has been finished in January 2011. Total investment is 1,3 million kunas
Project contained the implementation of following energy efficiency measure: accumulation of waste heat from cold storages into containers for sanitary hot water. Before the implementation the heat was emitted in environment. To raise the share of “free heat” the system was updated with solar collector fields.
The implementation of energy efficiency measures resulted with lower fuel oil consumption that is used for purposes of heating water used in company’s plants.
Using this modernized sanitary hot water preparation system; this company will have financial savings of about 315.000,00 kunas a year, which means that the investment will pay itself out in less than four years time. Total savings in fuel oil are about 86.600 l/year.
With 192 t/year of greenhouse gas reduction, this project is very important from environmental point of view, considering that the plant is surrounded with beautiful landscape.
