Donation of new computers to the Maja Branch of Glina Primary School pupils ended the additional donation cycle organized by HEP as part of the 'For Our Little Geniuses' campaign, within which a total of 70 new computers was donated to 18 primary schools throughout Croatia.
Following a successfully completed second round of the 'For Our Little Geniuses' campaign, having donated 35 new computers to nine primary schools in March, HEP decided to extend the project in light of a huge interest and as many as 116 applications, and donate additional 35 new computers in the period from 2 until 6 May to another nine schools. Including the current May donations, HEP donated a hundred new computers to pupils of 27 primary schools throughout Croatia all as part of the 2015 'For Our Little Geniuses' campaign.
In cooperation with Narodni radio, HEP launched a nation-wide campaign in 2015 titled 'For Our Little Geniuses'. A total of 30 new computers was donated to nine primary schools. The campaign's main objectives were aimed at ensuring better conditions for IT education for as many pupils as possible as well as at raising public awareness of the condition of IT equipment in primary schools. And while the Croatia's average is 26 pupils per one computer, most schools bought new computer equipment almost ten years ago. In view of the above, HEP decided to donate computer equipment to schools with no computers, a large number of pupils per computer, or those primarily located in rural areas.
