On March 28, 2013 HEP's, WSP's and Black&Veatch's experts met with representatives of non-governmental organizations in HEP's Head Office in Zagreb with regard to documents on environmental protection for Ombla Hydropower Plant.
This was the last in the series of presentations of the Biodiversity Management Plan for Ombla Hydropower Plant area and the Appropriate Assessment of the Project in relation to Ecological Network within a one month procedure of public information. The procedure was launched by publishing the Plan and the Assessment as well as all input documentation used for their development on March 11 on HEP's website. On March 25, three separate presentations were held in Dubrovnik – for officials of the city of Dubrovnik and Dubrovačko-neretvanska county; representatives of organizations engaged in environmental issues and open public presentation for citizens. On March 27, this documentation was presented to representatives of authorized institutions of Bosnia&Herzegovina as well. The Study had previously been presented to several government officials as well as to European Commission representatives. Respecting the legislative changes regarding environmental protection compared to the period of obtaining the Appropriate Assessment Decision for HPP Ombla , HEP has repeated survey works on the Ombla area and agreed on the development of additional expert documentation with EBRD. These survey works have resulted in new environmental protection measures presented to the public for the purpose of collecting comments and opinions. Questions, comments and objections arising from expert documentation can be submitted to ombla@hep.hr. Replies will be published on HEP's website.
