In the first six months of 2006 Hrvatska Elektroprivreda has continued the trend of successful operations from the previous two years. Total revenue for the first six months of 2006 is 5.3 billion kuna and semi-annual profit before tax is 425 million kuna.
The first half of this business year was characterized by a continued high growth in electricity consumption of 3.7 percent. The exceptionally good business results have been influenced by favorable hydrology, positive exchange differences and continued cuts in operating costs. Despite a significant growth in fuel prices and good business results according to which it is highly likely that total results at the end of the year will be successful, HEP has not and will not request increase in electricity prices.
