In Šibenik, from May 29 to 31, a professional gathering with international participation was held - Renewable Energy Sources in the Republic of Croatia (wind, small waterways and geothermal waters).
The gathering, under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship, Šibenik-Knin County, the City of Šibenik, and National Weather Bureau, was organized by the Community of Renewable Energy Sources of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the company Tehno-ing d.o.o. with the aim to present experiences and knowledge to domestic and foreign participants relating to preparation, construction and use of renewable energy sources in Croatia.
Some 160 registered participants of the gathering, which was organized for the first time, are a confirmation of the great interest in the theme of renewable energy sources, and the numerous papers presented and discussions held at roundtables will surely contribute to better understanding of the issues involved and to greater public participation in the process of planning and using these sources which increasingly gain in importance as Croatia moves closer to the EU. This was confirmed also in the statement made by the representative of Hrvatska Elektroprvireda (general sponsor of the gathering together with Končar d.d.) N. Bruketa who in a press conference released the news that before the end of June HEP Group will found a new daughter company to deal with development and construction of renewable energy sources.
