Hrvatska Elektroprivreda d.d. and HEP Operator prijenosnog sustava d.o.o. hosted three important international meetings held in Zagreb from January 18 to 20, 2006.
A meeting of UCTE Steering Committee, the highest body of the Union for Coordination of Transmission of Electricity in continental Europe, was held on January 19. Discussion covered among other things current issues related to system operation, security of electricity supply, wind power plants and their influence on the security of operation of the UCTE system, future development and possible expansion of the UCTE and a number of topics of interest to transmission system operators.
This meeting of the UCTE Steering Committee started a two-year term of the new UCTE Presidency whose only new member is its president, Jose Penedos from Portiugal, who presented the priorities of his program. Further, on January 20, a meeting was held of the UCTE working group Operation and Security and a meeting of ETSO working group SETSO for South East Europe. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of birth of Nikola Tesla this year, the participants visited the demonstration cabinet of Nikola Tesla in the Technical Museum in Zagreb.
