On Friday, June 30, Training Center for energy trading was opened at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb. This project is designed to train participants in the Croatian and regional European energy market.
The project, initiated on November 1, 2004, is financed by the Norwegian Government and HEP. Project managers were Kjell B. Mortensen (Technor) and Professor Slavko Krajcar (the Faculty).
Assessing that the opening of the Center is the beginning of a new electricity reality in Croatia, S. Krajcar said: " This starts the operation of the electricity market in Croatia. True, for now only on the simulator, but that is the way to avoid mistakes in reality.
On behalf of President of HEP Management Board Ivan Mravak the gathering was addressed by Kažimir Vrankić, a member of HEP Management Board, who said that HEP had been giving strong support to this project from the very beginning.
The benefit from the project, he said, will be felt by the entire Croatian electricity market and all its participants. The opening was, among others, attended by Elisabeth Walaas, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Croatia, Branko Vukelić, Minister of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship Croatia, Prof. Mladen Kos, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing and members of HEP Management Board.
