At the proposal of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the Supervisory Board of Hrvatska elektroprivreda d.d. dismissed the current president of the Company's Management Board, Frane Barbarić on 8 December 2023, and appointed Vice Oršulić as the President of the Management Board for a term of six months, until the public tender for the position of the President of the Management Board is carried out.
The newly appointed President of the Management Board takes office as of today, 8 December 2023. Current members of the Management Board of HEP d.d. Petar Sprčić and Tomislav Šambic continue to perform their duties.
"Hrvatska elektroprivreda is a strategic energy company of special importance for the Republic of Croatia, its economy and citizens. I am ready to invest my knowledge, experience and energy in fulfilling the main goals of HEP in the coming period: the efficient implementation of investment projects and the implementation of the energy transition by building our own sources and strengthening the network in order to accept new renewable energy sources from other energy entities, entrepreneurs and citizens. In this regard and in synergy with the Government of the Republic of Croatia, we will make a strong contribution to the development of the overall Croatian economy and play a key role in strengthening the energy independence of our country. We will fully meet our tasks in the implementation of the measures of the Croatian Government to protect households and the economy from rising prices. In doing so, we will, in cooperation with the Government, carry out the necessary activities with the aim of maintaining the financial stability and strong investment potential of HEP. It is also important for us to continuously improve the quality of service and relations with users and customers of electricity, heat energy and gas. It is our wish to cooperate openly and actively with all the stakeholders in achieving said goals," said the new President of the Management Board Vice Oršulić.
Born in 1970. Graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split in 1996 and was awarded a degree of Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. He was employed in HEP Proizvodnja, Hydro Power Plant Production Area South from 1996 in different roles. First as an independent engineer in the Energy Department, and in the Department for Construction Preparation and Revitalization. , then as a head of the Department for Construction Preparation and Revitalization, and a head of Investments. From 2018 to December 2022, he was the director of the HPP Production Area South. Appointed a member of the Management Board of HEP d.d. as of 1 January 2023. He has passed the Professional Exam of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Spatial Planning in the field of construction and is registered in the Directory of Authorized Electrical Engineers of the Croatian Chamber of Electrical Engineers.
